SAD NEWS? PACKERS STAR KALEB JOHNSON FACES A MAJOR WEEK 2 QUESTION — HERE’S WHAT GREEN BAY FANS NEED TO KNOW
Green Bay Packers fans are already looking ahead to Week 2 after a disappointing opening weekend in Minnesota.
Now, a dramatic report circulating online claims that running back Kaleb Johnson will miss the upcoming matchup against the New York Jets after his family unexpectedly announced that something had happened.

But there is one major problem with that claim:
There is currently no credible confirmation that Kaleb Johnson has been ruled out for Week 2 or that his family has made such an announcement.
In fact, the latest available player information lists Johnson as active.
JOHNSON IS STILL A PACKER
Green Bay acquired Johnson from the Pittsburgh Steelers on August 30, sending a 2028 sixth-round pick to Pittsburgh.
The move gave the Packers additional depth in the backfield after Josh Jacobs was placed on the Commissioner’s Exempt List.
Johnson arrived in Green Bay with plenty of potential.

The former Iowa standout was originally selected by Pittsburgh in the third round of the 2025 NFL Draft after an outstanding college season in which he rushed for 1,537 yards and 21 touchdowns.
His first NFL season was much quieter, however, as he finished with 69 rushing yards on 28 carries for the Steelers.
Green Bay clearly sees an opportunity for a fresh start.
WEEK 1 WASN’T WHAT PACKERS FANS EXPECTED
Johnson was active for Green Bay’s season opener against Minnesota.
However, his role was extremely limited.
According to ESPN’s latest player update, Johnson played only two special-teams snaps and returned two kickoffs for 52 yards. He did not receive a rushing attempt behind MarShawn Lloyd and Chris Brooks.
That means Johnson’s Week 2 role could actually become more interesting.
The Packers are coming off a 39–22 loss to Minnesota in which the team surrendered a 22–10 lead.
After such a collapse, Matt LaFleur and his coaching staff could look for ways to change the offensive approach.
WHY KALEB JOHNSON COULD STILL MATTER
Johnson isn’t currently the centerpiece of Green Bay’s backfield.
But his presence gives the Packers another option.
He has experience as a runner, receiver and kick returner, and his college production demonstrated why Pittsburgh originally invested a third-round pick in him.
Green Bay may not need Johnson to suddenly become the team’s lead running back.
Instead, his value could come from giving the coaching staff another versatile player to deploy as the season develops.
That’s especially relevant with the Packers entering Week 2 after an offensive collapse in Minnesota.
THE JETS GAME COULD BE AN OPPORTUNITY
Green Bay’s next opponent is New York, and the Packers will be looking for a response after their Week 1 defeat.
Johnson is currently not confirmed as unavailable.
There is also no verified evidence of an unexpected family announcement forcing him out of the game.
Until the Packers release an official injury or availability update, fans should be careful with social-media reports claiming otherwise.
The situation could change during the week, but as of the latest available information, Johnson remains on Green Bay’s roster and is listed as active.
PACKERS NATION IS WAITING FOR THE NEXT UPDATE
The biggest question isn’t whether Johnson has already been ruled out.
He hasn’t.
The bigger question is whether Green Bay decides to give the young running back a larger role after his limited involvement in Week 1.
The Packers need answers after their second-half collapse against Minnesota.
And with another game approaching quickly, every potential offensive adjustment will be
